Would it be possible to add support for messages created by the Private Message module? My visitors include many links in PMs to screenshots that are hosted on other sites, and sometimes delete those screenshots at a later date, creating broken links.

If the messages are a content type it would be very easy.

They appear to be stored in a module-specific table. If you already have a process to check, for example, comments, would it not be a simple matter to copy/modify that to access the Private Message table(s)?

I personally have no plans to implement this as I'm not using this Private Message module and I would not expect anyone will fix a broken link in "messages".
