Make a different horizontal tab active from link

I am looking for some help on a problem I am having. I have the code to link to an actual tab from a link. Which works great. However what I would like to do is for instance you are on the first tab I want to make the second tab active from a clickable link on the first page and not reload the page, but rather just open the second tab. Can someone help me with this please. Thanks.
