Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
This module is limiting as it uploads all images into the public folder. It is necessary for security reasons to allow the selection of the private file system and to allow the admin to enter a tokenized path for the upload location.
It might also be good to allow the setting of the text fields and image field(s) just as one does for a node type. Though I understand how this complicates an otherwise basic and simple solution for formatting.

Your suggestion might be useful to improve a security of the module. We've added configuration to select a uri-scheme to upload images with the default Layouter forms.
Thanks you for helping us to make our module better!
