I've been installing a few modules recently, but now when I upload a .tar.gz file into the module install overlay,I click Install and it just reloads the present page, without installing the module.

I'm seeing the same problem with total module install failures
From a stable test/sandbox drupal configuration I began sequentially installing drupal commerce module from the:
admin/modules
page. I have the module filter module installed for easier module location and dependency checking.
My workflow was to install a large body of the drupal commerce modules, before doing any configuration with them.
After installing some of the drupal commerce modules, suddenly no modules of any kind will install anymore.
Check the dblog at:
admin/reports/dblog
The log messages page doesn't contain any error messages regarding installation of any of the modules installed thus far.
For the modules installed thus far is a "module installed" message followed by a "module enabled" message.
Since the unsuccessful module install attempts, there are NOT any new messages on the messages page, other the routine cron activity messages that normally appear there.

My current work is totally blocked until I can solve this problem with Drupal.
Does anyone know what this problem is, and how it might be fixed?
