Hey,

Is it possible to support static images as a layer like this:

http://openlayers.org/en/v3.2.0/examples/static-image.html

This would be a very helpful feature because OL could be used as an image viewer too.

Yes, this is possible. See the example map in the Openlayers Examples module: openlayers_examples_map_image_static
