can somebody help me?

i really hate it that D7 has the image in the core and that the image attach etc are not working anymore, so, i need a clean and normal way to add images to content 'inline'.

Is that so hard to do on D7?

no, i don't want to add 'insert module' - need the thumbnails on views block of content, and don't want every single picture i upload to the node to bi visible, but all are, cause no matter how many you upload it shows them all and you cannot limit the number of images shown on the teaser, come on community that's a crucial issue, how are we supposed to add content to make them look like articles in the newspapers and also keeping the blocks view and page views on the nodes, drupal 6 was all about versatility, you could do wonders, now? i really don't know...

thanks for any help

another option is imce for use when adding images into the body text area.

thanx for the reply i did it with imce, although i really don't get it why such an essential function is so not user friendly ;)

With Views, set it to "display all values in the same row" and then set "items to display" to "1."

For node teaser displays, see https://www.drupal.org/project/field_multiple_limit.

For nodes, set the field not to display and use https://www.drupal.org/project/insert.

On our sites we have a slightly more sophisticated approach. Out display templates conditionally use a "front_photo" single image if it exists, else the first element of the photos[] multiple-image field. This allows editors to chose and specially crop photos for featured-item displays.
