Adding link to a status using FBSMP must be done twice

I have an instance of Statuses and FBSMP module running on an OA2 (Drupal 7) site. Generally it works quite well, except for one quirk. This is when the user wishes to add a link with an image to a status. The problem is that the action must be done twice. The first time a link is inserted in the stub box, and "Attach" is clicked, the form to select an image does not appear. However, the link and description do appear.

If the user then deletes the post by clicking on the box with the "X" in it, then adds the link again, and then clicks on "Attach" a second time, the thumbnail images then appear. Selecting an image and then clicking the "Share" button then successfully attaches the link, the description, and the thumbnail image.

Its not clear exactly what is going on here, but it would seem that perhaps the link and images are not stored before the image select form is activated, but are stored afterwards? This might explain why the second attempt results in a successful attachment.

Any help in resolving this simple problem would be appreciated.
