On some content types I would like the URL to be lists (the book module for example) where as others I would rather not since they often point to many internal URLs.
I haven't looked at the code for the module, so I don't know how difficult it would be to do this based on content type across the board, but I'm sure it would be much simpler/quicker to implement for just the book module.
What do you say?

It's not simple, but it's not too complicated either. Basically, it would be a solution similar to the 'print comments by content type' option currently in existence.
At the moment, I don't have too much time to look into it, so I am marking this to later when I get the chance to touch the other settings that are currently also postponed.
