After #2454447: Split Utility\String class to support PHP 7 (String is a reserved word) all methods of \Drupal\Component\Utility\String are marked as deprecated and will be removed before Drupal 8.0 (almost all methods have been migrated \Drupal\Component\Utility\SafeMarkup)
