This is a module to allow DemocracyNow videos to be embedded using the Video Filter module.
To use it, you will need the video filter module installed. After that, you can copy the URL of a DemocracyNow show into your text input area using the video filter syntax and it will render as a video for you.
Examples
To embed a full show:
[video: http://www.democracynow.org/shows/2015/3/23]
To embed a story from a show:
[video:http://www.democracynow.org/2015/3/23/yemen_in_crisis_us_closes_key]
There is a basic help page available at example.com/admin/help/video_filter_democracynow
To clone the repo:
git clone --branch 7.x-1.x http://git.drupal.org/sandbox/MarkConroy/2458655.git video_filter_democracynow
cd video_filter_democracynow

As well as my distribution that was promoted to full status last week - https://www.drupal.org/project/adfl_distribution - I have also created a companion module to this one to all embedding videos from Ted using video filter module - https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/markconroy/2458825. Can both of these be taken into account when considering me for full status/git rights? Thanks.

As successful completion of the project application process results in the applicant being granted the 'Create Full Projects' permission, there is no need to take multiple applications through the process. Once the first application has been successfully approved, then the applicant can promote other projects without review. Because of this, posting multiple applications is not necessary, and results in additional workload for reviewers ... which in turn results in longer wait times for everyone in the queue. With this in mind, your secondary applications have been marked as 'closed(duplicate)', with only one application left open (chosen at random).
If you prefer that we proceed through this review process with a different application than the one which was left open, then feel free to close the 'open' application as a duplicate, and re-open one of the project applications which had been closed.

PA robot CreditAttribution: PA robot commentedThere are some errors reported by automated review tools, did you already check them? See http://pareview.sh/pareview/httpgitdrupalorgsandboxMarkConroy2458655git
We are currently quite busy with all the project applications and we prefer projects with a review bonus. Please help reviewing and put yourself on the high priority list, then we will take a look at your project right away :-)
Also, you should get your friends, colleagues or other community members involved to review this application. Let them go through the review checklist and post a comment that sets this issue to "needs work" (they found some problems with the project) or "reviewed & tested by the community" (they found no major flaws).

hussainwebMostly nitpicks. I am not setting it to needs work for this. I am also updating the repository URL in IS as the one you gave would probably not work for others.
In hook_help:
Change to
On the text formats page, make sure Video Filter is switched on.
I would suggest rephrasing this. It gets somewhat confusing in the end.

markconroy CreditAttribution: markconroy at Annertech commentedHi Hussainweb,
Thanks for those comments. I have amended the help page now. Can you check and see if this is okay for RTBC? Thanks.
hussainweb@markconroy: I think these are much better. I am +1 for RTBC but I wanted to see it in action before actually setting it. Do you have a demo somewhere?
I will try to install it later and try it out, but if you have a demo, it could go faster. :)
hussainwebOkay, it was rather quick and I tried it out. The demo URL works fine in the filter and I then garbled the URL and nothing showed up. I think that is as per expectation. This is okay to RTBC. Thanks for the module!

markconroy CreditAttribution: markconroy at Annertech commentedThere is some more to this module now. I've also added support to allow embedding segments of shows (story) rather than the full show. Updated issue summary.

klausiLooks good to me except for the minor errors reported by pareview.sh.
This module is a bit short on its own, but since you already did the ADFL distribution and the other TED module also looks good I think we can process here with granting you the git vetted user role.
Thanks for your contribution, markconroy!
I updated your account so you can promote this to a full project and also create new projects as either a sandbox or a "full" project.
Here are some recommended readings to help with excellent maintainership:
You can find lots more contributors chatting on IRC in #drupal-contribute. So, come hang out and stay involved!
Thanks, also, for your patience with the review process. Anyone is welcome to participate in the review process. Please consider reviewing other projects that are pending review. I encourage you to learn more about that process and join the group of reviewers.
Thanks to the dedicated reviewer(s) as well.
