Hi,

I've created an Ubuntu VSFTP server on a digital ocean droplet and I FTP to it fine using 'username' and 'password', with the optional remote location setting to /home/user/backups. If I FTP to the server without a remote location set in my FTP client, it opens to /home/user.

When I add the FTP server as a destination, in the B&M settings, I enter the Path as '/home/user/backups' and it saves, but if I 'List the files' from the destinations table it says "FTP Error: Couldn't change into the xxx folder". This happens for anything I write in Path regardless of permissions, ownership or whether the folder exists or not.

Also, if I do a simple backup to this destination it shows the same error message, but it does send the backup files over fine, but to '/home/user' which as stated above, is the default ftp location for this user. But even putting in '/home/user' to Path, does the same thing.

I'm pretty happy its saving, but would like to view and restore also.

Is there something wrong with my vsftp settings my server or something ?

thanks

Given that this issue is over 2 years old, I am hoping you've found a resolution. Try the newer release, 7.x-3.2 if needed. I've seen a few other issues where people didn't have folder permissions set correctly and it did mess up the backup process, so it might be something you need to address locally.
