Junior developer to work on big, exciting projects

We are Marzee Labs and we make big, challenging projects thrive. Our area of focus is the web, or anything that lives online. We started off in Barcelona (Spain) in 2012, we are now in Lisbon and Porto (both in Portugal) too.

We are looking for a full time, full stack developer to join our office in Porto (http://porto.io) to work and grow with us, by working on large-scale technical projects as well as periodic releases and other technical matters with talented folks.

Job Description and Responsibilities

• Software development using PHP5, MySQL, and the Drupal 7 API.
• Other cool tech such as AngularJS, node.js, etc.
• Working closely with external development teams and management to help steer the technical direction of the projects we are involved in.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Required

• Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and get involved deeply.
• Experience in programming and software development (can be a degree).
• HTML5 and CSS3 fundamentals for proper mark-up (cross browser).
• Experience and interest in open source projects and development.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, but also good at collaboration, taking direction and working with others.
• Able to communicate both verbally and written at high level in English.

Added bonus

• Knowledge of Drupal above the “I suck threshold” http://buytaert.net/drupal-learning-curve
• PHP and MySQL programming/coding knowledge/experience.
• JavaScript experience (specially if using state of the art frameworks).
• Cloud knowledge, devops interests, etc
• Database (MySQL) administration.
• An “eye” for design.
• SCRUM experience.

Money

Depending on experience. We’ll make sure you’re happy. Our base package also includes traveling to conferences, and off-sites amongst other goodies.
