Am I the only one who thinks the user should know when the input was altered?
Since I can't prevent the node/entity/webform to be save in the presave-hook, at least a warning should be shown to the user.
In case there is anyone who also wants to tell their user about the replacing ... here is a patch for that :D

I think that a setting for that will be better. Maybe not all of the people want to show the user a warning with this information.
