Hi Guys,

I am working on a website and have been told (by an SEO expert) that the html title and the h1 title should be different, but obviously we have only one title field for each node. What I would like to do (and attempting) is to have an additional text field for the h1 field. Obviously if I add a new field it will have all the usual markup, that I am feeding in to a block using cck blocks (with the usual markup) that I then feed in to a new region (with all the usual markup) within a h1 tag. I have managed to lose some of the markup using the 'Clean Markup' module and thought I would be able to lose more using the 'Display Suite' module (unsuccesfully). I was just wondering if there was an easier way, with a bit of php code in a template.php, within my custom theme. I am not a php programmer though, so I am a little out of my depth. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And if there is another way of doing it with another module I haven't been able to identify you can think of, please let me know.

Thanks.

There is no such thing as an SEO expert. There are only people who pretend they know what they are talking about enough to call themselves experts.

I'm no SEO expert (no one is), but I have a decent handle on SEO, and I've never heard the comment above, and frankly, I believe it to be incorrect.

I Agree, I hear that Google = Link back Based. if h tags matter, it is probably on the lowest scale.

that the html title and the h1 title should be different

What reasoning did this SEO expert provide?

My expert has been successfully running an SEO firm for best part of a decade, but that is moot as my client wants this functionality. Anyone got any ideas how I might do this?

The reasoning was that it makes the content look more natural to google and is a reasonably recent development of theirs.

This issue is independent of the theme. Please edit the opening post and move it to the 'post installation' forum. Thank you.
