The default option in the dev version is "form only"
Updating from previous version causes missing markups in view mode
The behavior of updated websites would not change if the default option would be "both form and viewed submission"

by the way: is it possible to add here "show in edit mode"?
If yes maybe it would be better to change from drop down to check boxes

Markup components were previously not shown on display -- only on the form. The default behavior is unchanged. Please re-open if you find that this isn't the case for some reason.

There are only two places that the components are shown -- the form (i.e.while editing) and display (i.e. while viewing a submission). Checkboxes aren't appropriate because they allow the "show neither" option, which makes no sense.

uups sorry just looked to an old installation. Yes works as designed
This new function is very helpful to show markups now in view mode. The view mode can be set similar to the edit and create mode.
