Hi:

I was doing some routine PC cleanup this morning and somewhere along the way, I killed my localhost site. When I try to open it in FF or IE, it won't come up. None of the pages, even when individually typed in browser bar, come up.

Actually, I think what I killed wasn't Drupal, but was my Apache2Triad web server. The Drupal directories look fine. My themes, modules, DB, etc. are all there and look as they did before. My CSS files open in Dreamweaver. So I think the 'site' is fine (fingers crossed).

I'm not expert at this sort of thing by any means, but I stumbled around and found that the Apache services are mostly not running. 2 are: mysql and xmail. and a couple try to start, but then fail.

The main one - Apache 2.2 - says it failed cause path not found. The path specified for it is "c:\xampp\apache\bin\apache.exe" -k runservice". There is no such path or file.

I have an Apache2Triad install and that's where my htdocs and drupal folders are. All the other Apache services go to existing .exe files in my apache2triad folder. The Apache 2.2 service is the only one not correct.

I think the problem may go back some months when I first tried to get Drupal installed. Before I got Triad working, I first had an abortive attempt with xampp. There are still remnants of that on my system and I think that somehow the path got corrupted as a result.

Can anyone suggest what the right .exe file is in Apache2Triad for the Apache 2.2 service? If I just write in the correct path name is it likely to fix the problem?

Is there something else going on that I should be aware of?

Any help would be much appreciated. I'm happy to pay something for your efforts.

Thanks,
John
