I built a store based on Commerce Kickstart and have not been able to figure out how to get sales tax to apply. I only need one single sales tax rate.

- I've followed the instructions at https://drupalcommerce.org/user-guide/tax-configuration to no avail
- I've been through every stage of the Checkout process with various users, and it will not apply
- I've checked that the Rule is enabled, etc.

After trying to figure this out for days, I've finally set up a fresh install of Commerce Kickstart with the test sales tax applied to see if it was a setting I had inadvertently changed, and it still will not apply sales tax to items.

I would appreciate any and all help troubleshooting this matter. Please let me know if you need more info. Thank you in advance!

I should also note: In my original installation, I set up a Rule to fire a message on the Sales Tax pricing rule. The message would show, but the sales tax would not be calculated (or shown) in the Order Total block.

Further, when I select Pricing with Components for the Price field in the Product in Cart display, it shows the sales tax amount is being calculated. I'm guessing it's just not being applied to the Order Total ...?

It is adviced to wait for the distro to update the modules not update individual modules your self

Pardon my ignorance here, but what if a feature as critical as sales tax isn't working? What's the recommended action? Wait to launch until a new distro is released? Use an older distro?

@rmd-14 Tax is working, but not if you upgrade to a unsupported module like rules 2.8, which breaks the rules for tax from running. This is why you should not update individual modules, but wait for the distro to update.
