What could have been wrong? I mean, I´ve carefully followed the instructions, and the forum doesn´t appear as it does in the demo version.
I´ve attached an image of how it looks in Firefox, and how it looks in IE.
I can bare the way it looks in Firefox, it´s not too bad. But it´s horrible the way it shows the content of each post in IE.
I´m using IE6, and I´ve just copy/paste the default advforum folder inside my theme folder...
Any ideas? Any of you having the same issue?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Rosamunda
I've got the same. It is the way IE handles spacing. You have to try and tweak your theme. If you remove one of your side bars (or look at the forum on a bigger monitor) you will see it is spaced OK.

Gee, how bad. Many useres here in Argentina still uses a small screen... 800x600.
Anyway, at least isn´t a bug or something...

Again, many thanks!!!

I have the same problem in IE..
removing a sidebar doesn't help me..

The screen isn't the problem either. I am having the problem on little and big screens.

Does anyone have a solution?

I don't use IE 6. Not something I can help with.

Ah that's to bad. In the Netherlands a lot of people still use explorer..

I don't understand why this module isn't tested with more browsers :(
In firefox it looks great

I fist used flatforum but I thought this one was better

Well it seems that this module just isn't right for Internet Explorer.

Maybe it would be nice to put some text on the module page that this module isn't compatible with IE

Back to flatforum than

Please note that the version of this module is still in ALPHA. It is not official as there is a lot of testing to be done. Michelle is not saying she won't make it work with IE. She is just not working in IE. She depends on people like us to do the testing and help getting this module to work. That's how you can pay back for something that is free to use.

And it is not so much an Adv Forum problem, more likely a theme problem. And if you know some theming, you would know that IE does not handle layout and spacing exactly as it is intended by the developer and the way it is shown in FF and other. If you look at a lot of CSS files you always see there is some elements required to make corrections just for it to work in IE.
Have a look here:
http://archive.webstandards.org/css/winie/
And see which is number 1

Also here:

Those are my two top search results in Google asking for CSS and IE problems.

Tweend - The project page clearly says "I do my best to make this work right in default Garland blue in FF, Opera, and IE 7 so if you find a problem in those, please file a bug report. Patches for IE 6 are welcome but I won't take a lot of time supporting it."

I am a coder not a themer and I'm not getting paid for working on this module. I'm simply not willing take vast amounts of time trying to figure out obscure CSS issues in that POS IE 6. When the module is finished I may make an attempt at it since I do have a few IE 6 users on my site, but it's not a priority for me. If you want to go back to flatforum, that's your choice. Personally I think it's rather silly to use an abandoned and completely unsupported module in favor of fixing your theme yourself but that's your choice.

Thanks, Zandroc. :)

Oh, and I don't consider not working on an outdated browser to be a bug.

Yup, I still have that theme problem with IE, even with bigger screens.
I realise that IE sucks, sadly, a lot of people here in Argentina still uses it.
I´ve tried to adjust the theming... but no luck yet...
If I cam up with something better than the actual code I´ll attach it here.
