Total discount on product page

On the product page customers can select the amount of a certain product they want to purchase before adding to the cart. From a marketing perspective it would be great if the module could calculate the total price and total discount in real time. In other words, on the product page when a user changes the amount, would it be technically possible to re-calculate prices without the user forcing to leave the product page?
