Hi,
On the main menu, I have a top menu called 'products', with submenus of different product lines.
The trouble is, the products menu HAS to have a path associated with it - currently it's set to . I'd like the users to be able to click on the products menu, and not have the front page reload. Is there a way to enter something in the path which will do nothing?
Thanks!

At this time core does not let empty paths. There are a ton of modules that can help you with this. I prefer https://www.drupal.org/project/special_menu_items as it adds a few other things to the menu admin.
why not just load all the
why not just load all the product, and just use jQuery to show / hide some of it?
is that what your asking? looks like im lost in the question

I know what you're thinking, this probably sounds rehearsed.
