BTW i assume using more than one product type will not work either, as the "product" product type seems hardcoded.
It should be a good idea to add support for several product types.

ajFernandez CreditAttribution: ajFernandez commentedHi, I can confirm the patch #7 works partially fine. I needed to change the name of a permission to work properly. I think the permission 'administer commerce' does not exist yet. I used the permission 'configure store' instead.
Moreover, the patch in #7 did not work if the field image had field translation disabled. In this case, the language for the field would be 'und' or LANGUAGE_NONE but this use case was not contemplated in the patch #7.
I have created a patch to solve these issues.
