Backdrop port

Thank you for your work and effort on this module. I have found it to be very beneficial on a number of projects.

As useful as it is for Drupal, I suspect it will be equally useful for Backdrop.

Would any of the maintainers be interested in porting the 7.x-2.x version of this module to Backdrop and/or maintaining or co-maintaining it afterward?

If so, I am willing to help in whatever capacity you think will best be of service to you. If not, I am willing to at least start the process of porting, and even complete it, and I am willing to maintain or co-maintain the Backdrop version, once it is ported.
