In its current form it was just not completely compatible with the Solr patch, since Solr returns the fields without index prefix, but multi-index views internally work with such prefixed fields. I therefore adapted the patch a bit to make them work together properly.
Please test/review and I can commit it. And thanks again for the intiative!
