hosef commentedHere is a dump file I made from a D7 site to start.
benjy commentedI think we need a few extra things:
* A new script for exporting tables, just copy the d6 script for now, we can combine them later.
* The tables exporting into a patch.
* The D7 codebase pushing to a repo, I think we could probably put that in another branch next to the D6 code: https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/benjy/2405029
Comment #3
hosef commentedOk, I made a new script, as you asked, and made the classes.
hosef commentedNew one to remove my name/email from it.

benjy commentedOK, this issue is a hard blocker to start D7 which we're gearing up to start. The patch applies, albeit with white space errors in the dump. @hosef, can you push the codebase to the sandbox. You should have access: https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/benjy/2405029
Once the code is in the sandbox and I can confirm it works with the d7.gz database this is ready to be committed.
benjy commentedBinary formatted the dump in the patch.
andypostIs there a steps how to check that dumps are match?
Doing a fresh D7 install is not enough
Comment #10
andypostRelated issues could be affected by new dumps
Comment #11
benjy commentedNot without the codebase that was used to produce the dumps. We really need hosef to push the code to the sandbox otherwise someone will need to create the d7 dumps from scratch.
hosef commentedHi, I just pushed up my D7 site to the sandbox. Hopefully I did it right. :)
andypostPlease update summary allowing other people to get involved here
Comment #14
benjy commentedSomeone needs to clone the codebase from: https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/benjy/2405029 and then ensure that importing the database in the patch from #8 works with that codebase.
Then we're ready to commit this.

pjezek commentedHi Benjy, Hi Hosef
I am at drupal dev days in Montpellier and asked Ryan if I could help on migration. He told me to get in contact with you to help out with this issue.
pjezek commentedI updated https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/benjy/2405029 until the last point.
./cores/scripts/migrate-dump.sh is probably:
But I got some exceptions and stopped working on it. Hope the updated doc will help someone.

phenaproximaThe patch at #30 in #2469623: Process for creating migration source DBs for automated tests adds Drupal 7 support for dumping and restoring tables. Once that lands, we can probably get this issue done in a hurry :)
