Grouped Filter Date Fields Missing

I have a content type "event" with a date field "event_date".

I have used the default view to override taxonomy pages, and am trying to add a grouped filter to filter results by Past and Upcoming events. (e.g. "Is greater than" - "now" ).

There seems to be a text field missing from the form where I have highlighted in the attached picture. Looking in Dev Tools, I can see the text field is there, but has style="display:none;" added in line to the input.

Also, removing the display none, entering a value, and saving does not save any values.
