Hi,
I've made a couple of Drupal sites so far, now I'm on my own, new project. And considering using Drupal 8 instead of Drupal 7. It has so many changes in comparison to older version, I love it! But it is still beta, so I am a little scared. The new site launch is February/March 2015. What do you think? Better stay with D7 or try the new, but unstable D8? Will it be stable enough till March, and the update from beta to final version will be possible?

I would think the bigger issue would be modules. Drupal 8 has more in core than ever, but you will probably need some modules. I doubt all the ones you need are available in Drupal 8. Personally, even if I thought all the modules I need are available for Drupal 8, I would not use it yet for productions sites. Requirements change and I am not confident that I will be easily able to add new functionality through modules.

Drupal 8 won't be released until the end of 2015.
Right now the performance is terrible and there is no upgrade path between prereleases (once rc1 is out, you will need to reinstall).

So, go with D7.

Ok, thanks for clearing my mind. Most modules I will write by myself, but anyway... I will stick to Drupal 7.
