Using Full Calendar 7.x.2 with colours, legend and options all turned in and Full Calendar Plug In 1.6.4
Al is working well except that every month view shows an additional week of information but without the dates of the following month.
I have events which are ongoing on a weekly basis. www.ceclive.com - Event Calendar to check it out.

This is a bit tricky because
This is a bit tricky because if a month starts on Saturday or Sunday you need that extra row display the full month. So you are really asking to cut down the month view but only for months where one fewer row is required.
However when I visited your site the dates of the following month do appear, albeit in lighter grey, so when you say "without the dates" that is not what I am seeing.

Guess I need to get my eyes
Guess I need to get my eyes checked - you are correct the days of the 'incorrect' month are there and greyed out. However, there is an extra week showing - for December the calendar shows 6 weeks and not 5.
Indeed. For the reason given
Indeed. For the reason given in my first sentence above.

Not sure about that. I cannot
Not sure about that. I cannot understand why there are SIX weeks visible in month of December, It does not matter what day of the month starts the month, the maximum number of weeks should be 5,
And the month of December
And the month of December starts n a Monday
Correction - the month of May
Correction - the month of May 2015 starts on a Friday and there are six weeks that does not explain why the extra week is showing when it is not required. It would appeat that the default is to print six weeks of information whether it is required or not.
Seems to be an error in logic somewhere - going back a few years, I could write a program in Basic which would correctly display a Calendar - surely 40 or so years later this still has to be possible.
Some months do span six weeks
Some months do span six weeks. You are asking for the styling to change between five or six rows depending on whether the month spans five or six weeks. Full Calendar module does not provide it, so it will need to be custom-coded, unless you switch to one of the other (less pretty) calendar modules which does work that way. I am not sure which do. Calendar Block does but is very different. You would just have to try out what is available unless you prefer to keep Full Calendar and modify it.

Fortunately you're incorrect.
Fortunately you're incorrect. FullCalendar does indeed provide support for different numbers of weeks within the "weekMode" setting. I'm referencing an older version of the FullCalendar library since that's the one supported by the FullCalendar module.
Unfortunately I can confirm that the module doesn't appear to be working correctly. Take a look at the issue I created and chime in with your experience.
