Any volunteers to port jQuery Update module from Drupal 7 to 8?

Same question, is it valuable to port it? What is your recommendation?

Per this related contrib tracker issue:

No longer needed in D8; D8 ships with the latest, and the plan is to continue increasing the shipped version (with BC available) in further minor releases.
