My drupal site went down today and my tech is unreachable.

I need someone to fix this problem:

Error messagePDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in lock_may_be_available() (line 167 of /home/NEW/public_html/includes/lock.inc).

I would contact the hosting company.

Second nevets. Looks like mysql is down on your server (at the hosting company). If they're unable to resolve and it's urgent, please re-post and/or try #drupal-consultants on IRC.

P.S. If up-time is a priority, you should have an in-place fallback plan.

Thought I did. He never let me down before. Believe he has internet problems. I have a server at linode.com - they are no help. Also I am prepared to pay for what I know is a relatively easy problem to fix. Main problem is server is too full. Dirk

I am not a tech, I design websites. Know html not coding. I understand how dbs connect to sites but hire individuals to make modifications, changes and build the backends of sites. I am a writer. If you can help great if not... I have seen this problem before but don't believe my tech has internet access for some reason. He is in Viet Nam and has been very dependable for the past year or so.
