500 Errors on Drupal.org follow up

Related issue: https://www.drupal.org/node/2370583
Current status: Rolled back.
As part of our ongoing effort to migrate profile fields to user fields, the Association’s team migrated the ‘Drupal Contributions’ field on the evening of November 5th. Pages for certain projects, issues, and users with a large amount of contributions returned 500 errors. The ‘Interests’ and ‘Roles in Working with Drupal’ fields were also rolled back as part of remediation. ‘Drupal Contributions’ will be re-migrated, along with the ‘Interests’ and ‘Roles in Working with Drupal’ in future deployments. Future field migration deployments will not be grouped into larger deployments.

NewRelic evaluation

Current status: Under review.
The Drupal Association Engineering Team and the Drupal.org Infrastructure Team are currently evaluating a trial of NewRelic. The service is running on Drupal.org webnodes to measure performance, error rates and general trending of Drupal.org. NewRelic should help us more proactively detect performance issues, deployment issues, and other site issues.

Load balancer issues

Related issue: https://www.drupal.org/node/2374773
Current status: Resolved.
The load balancer stack reached an open file limit on the nginx process. This limit has been raised to prevent further 500 errors. The nginx SSL session cache size has also been increased to avoid running out SSL session cache space.
