I am trying to upgrade from 7.27 to 7.33.
Followed the instructions and deleted all folders except /sites.
Uploaded the new version and took the site out of maintenance mode.
When I log in to the site it still issues the "Update available" warning and tells me I am running 7.27!
If I look in the directory I have confirmed that the CHANGELOG file correctly shows V 7.33.
Any suggestions? I have tried the update.php script but it says there are no updates.

This is a long shot but it is
This is a long shot but it is honestly all I can think of.
Have you tried clearing drupal's cache?
According to the docs update
According to the docs update.php should clear the cache and I had already done that. I also tried the manual approach by truncating all the cache_ tables.
No joy. Still reporting the old version.
Anyone know of a way I can check which version I am actually using by checking feature or something added between 7.27 and 7.33?
Problem solved (Was mostly between my ears!)
Sorry to have wasted anyone's time. It seems I was working with the wrong directory!
I had originally set up our drupal environment myself but for some reason it appears that a colleague had moved the production version to another directory. It was only after I started to suspect this possibility and started digging into the Apache virtual host configs that I found the thing.
Apologies for wasting anyone's time. All is now working as it should be.
Perhaps I should make a suggestion for future versions of Drupal that there be an easy way of seeing within the Admin panels what the server root is.
