Don't get me wrong - I like Acidfree, and I understand what a pain it is to keep an open source project up to date all by yourself when you also have a day job and a life you have to lead.

But the fact remains that there's no upgrade for Acidfree in Drupal 6 yet, and I've got a 4.7 site I'd like to upgrade straight to 6.1.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Acidfree in 5.x leverages the image module but still uses it's own albums. If I upgrade to 5.x and then to 6.x, how do I migrate my albums?

First of all, you should post an issue on the Acidfree project page.

Second, work is still done on Acidfree for D5 5, where there are no official release yet. I think the module author will want to make an official release before starting work on a Drupal 6 version.

Acidfree for Drupal 5 uses Views and Images. While Image module is Drupal 6 ready, it is another story for Views, which is still alpha. So a release version of Views is also needed.

You should upgrade to Drupal 5 and wait until all the blocks are available before thinking going to D6.

I didn't post in the Acidfree forum because I was interested in modules that were not, in fact, Acidfree. As for whether or not it's still being maintained for Drupal 5.x, the status for the module seems to disagree:

But really I will probably just ignore the 5.0 requests and work on creating a 6.0 release...

It would be a very good news to have a Drupal 6 version of Acidfree available. I do agree. But actual work on this version have not been started yet.

Version for Drupal 5 is still maintained for now. Last update by the module maintainer was March 14:

http://drupal.org/project/cvs/28069

Unfortunatly, I'm not aware of any other module that would upgrade a Drupal 4.7 Acidfree database.
