All of my settings profiles reflect the default drupal database as the source. Using edit I see no way to select the database I really want to backup. Nor can I create a new profile that shows the correct database to be backed up. I have a separate database for civicrm which right now I can not backup with BAM.

Please see if the newest 7.x-3.2 version has resolved your issue. If you desire this as a feature, then I would recommend you re-open the issue under the 8.x branch where all current development is taking place.
