I was running YSlow and webpagetest.org on questionnaire.acquia.com, and was surprised at the image weight. Lo and behold, pushing spark_bg_tile.png through smush.it and/or imageoptim lead to a massive reduction in filesize with no loss in quality.

So, I ran all of the images in Ember through imageoptim, and there is a lot of optimisation available:

Saved 238.3KB out of 262.6KB. 90.7% overall (up to 99.7% per file)
