The main Administration sections (Content, Structure, Appearance, Extend, Configuration, People, and Reports page), could do with better introductory text. The better the information, the less support requests we will get.
/admin
Has no introductory text. It could just say that Admin is split into 7 main section (plus Help), that are also available by clicking each item in the Admin menu bar.
Structure: /admin/structure
Has no introductory text. It should explain that Drupal is structured into several different areas.
Appearance: admin/appearance
Should mention that:
- Once an alternative theme has been found that is compatible with this version of Drupal, it can be uploaded and installed by clicking the Update tab.
- Can the link to "Alternative themes", link only to Drupal 8 themes?
Extend: admin/modules
- Can the link to "contributed modules" link only to Drupal 8 modules, and can we state this?
- Can we also mention that once a Drupal 8 compatible module has been found, it can be uploaded and installed by clicking the Update tab.
- A module without a checkbox tick, is not enabled.
- Once a module has been uploaded, it can be enabled by clicking the checkbox (and the pressing the Save button)
- A module can be disabled by unchecking the checkbox
- Can the Enable checkbox be labelled?
- After disabling a module, its data can be removed via the Uninstall tab, BEFORE removing the module from the server.
Configuration: admin/config
Needs a brief introduction.
People: admin/people
Needs a brief introduction.
- People that are registered with Drupal are called users
- Registering people with Drupal, gives you the option of granting them permissions to view certain pages, or carry out certain task.
- A group of people can be assigned to a role that have various permissions in common. For example, you could create roles called "readers" and "editors", the former having permission to read certain pages, the latter to edit them too.
Reports: /admin/reports
Needs a brief introduction.

joelpittetFeel free to create a patch or just start the ball rolling on this. Moving to 8.1.x and postponing as it's a feature request and that branch is not open yet but may be worth getting into that release version.

joelpittetPostponed isn't the right status for this, moving back to active. It was really postponed on the release.
