Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
Steps to reproduce:
Create contenttype A with some fields
Set a Display Suite Layout (i.e. 2 Columns) and rearange some fields, i.e. exclude body field completely
Open add/edit form and everything is ok
Create contenttype B with some fields
Add an entityreference field (widget inline entity form single or multi) with target contenttype A
Set a Display Suite Layout (i.e. 1 Columns) and rearange some fields, i.e. exclude a field
Open add/edit form of contenttype B
Display Suite settings for parent form (B) are ok
Display Suite settings for sub form (A) are ignored
What is wrong ?
What can I do ?

I'm also having this issue: my two column display is being ignored in the child form. Any updates?

I have the same result.
A similar aspect appears also when I add a question using Quiz module or H5P modules: I see only one region of the add/edit form.
These issues have probably the same origin.
Thanks if you can help.

silurius CreditAttribution: silurius commentedI just discovered something odd with this issue.
When I follow the steps in the above issue and edit content type B to add an entityreference field (inline entity form single) with target of content type A, content type B displays the Body and Published Status inline, even though those are hidden via Display Suite in my content type A.
After deleting the Body field from content type A, the Published Status field also stopped appearing inline.
