More than a year ago, the computer hosting my drupal site died completely. For various reasons I was not able to resurrect my site. But now I've dug up some backups and I'm ready to restore them.

The site ran Drupal 4.3 or possibly 4.2. The backups are at least a full DB dump, and I probably have a copy of all the conf files as well as the actual drupal dir too. So how can I do this in the best way, and end up with a recent version of drupal at the same time? I had some hackish modifications and themes and such, but I don't care about that. It's just the actual data, the stories, the users, the taxonomy and so on I want back.
