Cannot Create Data Export View- Preview with Contextual Filter

I am unable to create a data export view. Every time I attempt creating a new data export view, it takes me to a textfield screen with the label "preview with a contextual filter" I don't understand what this is an what to enter in the textfield.

Whatever value I enter in this textfield i get an error message below saying "Invalid display id views_data_export_1". The data export views tab is created however, but when I click it it sends me back to the "preview with a contextual filter" textfield.
