Is there a method to insert media stored in a media gallery into other nodes?

Thanks!

I'm interested in this too, so let me get a little more specific.

I thought that it would be as simple as adding a Media File Selector field to the node. But when I do that none of my images from the Media Gallery are available. I can add them by specifying the URL but that's suboptimal as it requires opening another browser window/tab so that I can go and find the image to get the URL, and then all it does is copies the image from the same site as though it were coming from another site, and saves it to a new location. If I wanted to upload the same file twice in order to use it twice on the same site, I would just upload the same file twice. Ideally, I'd like to reuse the media that's already on my site.

If we want to get really crazy, it would be awesome to attach a gallery to a node. But that's just nutty.

To make my own question more precise: It might be possible, as the project page states: "Add media from […] existing files". However, this might just mean the capability to reference existing files within an existing gallery (similar to 'filefield_sources').

I asked this question at Drupal Answers: How do I insert an inline image uploaded into another node?. Currently, there are no answers to this question from the experts.

@smscotten: "If we want to get really crazy, it would be awesome to attach a gallery to a node. But that's just nutty." - I'm new to media_gallery, but with other image management solutions this is trivial (be it image.module on D6 or single-value imagefield nodes on D6 and above. If this is not possible with media_gallery, it's probably the wrong decision to use media_gallery.
