I just insert a content and writing "read turned ..." where the number is at random (920, 1056, 683, 856 and ...) decidedly.
It doesn't deal with a discard among the various counters (Google Analytics, AwStat, etc) but really a structural error.
Can someone tell me thing and where to see for individualizing this anomalous behavior?

Can you provide some more information how to reproduce this error? This is also filed in the Drupal Core queue, can you replicate the problem on a vanilla Drupal installation without any contributed modules?

It is likely this problem is caused by one of the contributed modules you are using (e.g. related to Google Analytics or AWStat) and not by Drupal core. Can you try disabling your modules one by one until you can pinpoint which module is responsible?

I have eliminated Google Analytics. Now it works. Thanks

In that case, you may need to file an issue with the Google Analytics module to get this problem fixed.
