My requirement is date string to be translated in arabic.
I used the date_format but it translated only month names not the numbers of datestring.

Please help me to translate entire date string in arabic along with digits.

Example:
English: August 18, 2014
Arabic: يناير ١, ١٩٧٠

I have searched for similar requests, and the most useful suggestions are the last comments in #619198: showing arabic and persian number like ١ ٩٠ (use special javascript or special font)

I would suggest to start a discussion at https://localize.drupal.org/translate/languages/ar/board , as someone else from the team must have had a similar problem.
