For me it happened when I used meanMenu for a responsive menu. This article has some more info on it too. The meantheme people helped me find it (https://github.com/meanthemes/meanMenu/issues/41).
By adding width: 1px to element-invisible, the issue is fixed. Is this a good solution to introduce in the omega base theme?

osopolarI had also problems on an inline element #1328970: element-invisible class does not work properly in Chrome and Safari for inline elements reserving some unwanted horizontal space . Adding
width: 1px;
solved it too.Se also this article: http://snook.ca/archives/html_and_css/hiding-content-for-accessibility, where
width: 1px;
is used to.Comment #2
