Hi,

I've been trying to get Drupal 8 to run locally on my Windows 7 machine, but during the 3d step of the install process, I am blocked by an error message:

"
Requirements problem

STATUS COMPONENT DETAILS
OK Web server Apache/2.4.9 (Win32) OpenSSL/1.0.1g PHP/5.5.11
OK PHP 5.5.11
Error PHP extensions Disabled
Drupal requires you to enable the PHP extensions in the following list (see the system requirements page for more information):

  • fileinfo

OK Database support Enabled
OK PHP memory limit 128M
OK File system Writable (public download method)
OK Unicode library PHP Mbstring Extension
OK Settings file The ./sites/default/settings.php file exists.
OK Settings file The settings file is writable.
"

Some additional info:
I'm running the latest stable version of XAMPP, Apache and MySQL are running.
I have tried added the following lines to the php.ini file of my virtual xampp server:

magic_quotes_gpc = Off
memory_limit = "128M"
register_globals = Off
extension="pdo.so"
extension="pdo_mysql.so"
upload_max_filesize = 40M
post_max_size =64M
memory_limit = 64M
upload_tmp_dir = 64M
max_execution_time = 128

and also this variation of the same thing:

magic_quotes_gpc = Off
memory_limit = "128M"
register_globals = Off

extension=php_sockets.dll
extension=php_mysql.dll
extension=php_mysqli.dll

upload_max_filesize = 40M
post_max_size =64M
memory_limit = 64M
upload_tmp_dir = 64M
max_execution_time = 128

Any thoughts?

Kind regards,

Hamburger

If you are having problems setting up your local environment for D8 you can go to Drupal Community Tools Download Instructions page. Here you will find instruction on how to set-up a local environment on any OS.

sidenote: I feel like drupal.org needs a stackexchange/reddit upvote-downvote system - so we can aknowledge good help with an upvote.

You are welcome @hamburger.

This is something that is been implemented on groups.drupal.org but unfortunately it haven't for Drupal.org.

In addition, there's a drupal.org issue base on this Add "Was this helpful to you?" button. To make this implementation on Drupal.org we need to have people interested on this issue. So, you should go to Add "Was this helpful to you?" button issue and give some feedback, ideas or just mention that you would like to have this implemented.

Hi,
It is moss likely a php-curl problem.

You have to modify the php.ini files in your xampp folder. Three files in three different places need to be changed.

Follow the following steps to enable curl library with XAMPP in Windows:

Step 1:

Browse and open the following 3 files

C:\Program Files\xampp\apache\bin\php.ini
C:\Program Files\xampp\php\php.ini
C:\Program Files\xampp\php\php4\php.ini
Step 2:

Uncomment the following line in your php.ini file by removing the semicolon (;).

;extension=php_curl.dll
After that it will look something like something below-

extension=php_curl.dll
Step 3:

Restart your Apache server.

Step 4:

Check your phpinfo() to see whether curl has properly enabled or not.

Enjoy using curl() library.
