I updated the Date module to version 7.x-2.8. The Calendar display shows the Prev and Next links and also shows "Tuesday July 1, 2014". Prior to the update only the Month and year (eg. July 2014) would be displayed. I looked up the issue and there was a patch too; however the patch does not work for me. I have just upgraded my site to Drupal 7.30.

Same here and I am not comfortable applying patches. Will this be fixed in a new update eventually?

Thanks Bezu60, I thought I was the only one with issues. However, reading through the posts in https://www.drupal.org/node/2294973#comment-9015773, I see that some users have successfully installed the patch. Oh, well; Let's wait for the updated security module.

You think they will do that? What about Isabug's text file? Did you replace the right theme.inc? And did you go to admin and resave the date formats as someone says you have to do after the patch. "patch added a new admin/config/regional/date-time/date-views admin form, but it did not contain an update script to populate default values where date_views was already installed. Try opening that form and saving (so the default values actually get stored in the variables table) before you test again."

bezu60, I did all that and the issue still remains. I have reverted back to the old date module version 2.7 and everything seems to be fine.

Do you think they will come up with an update that fixes it? I am wary about reverting since it was a security update and I don't know what holes it might have plugged.

bezu60: I am hoping they will come up with a security update for this.

Thanks for raising the issue. As per 2.8 release notes, we had to push few other updates other than security fix. I will check and revert back any change of behaviours and will try to release another alpha release.

This is a duplicate of #2294973: Date format in calendar title remains default (e.g., month view date shows as July 1, 2014) There is a patch there.

Good news then. it is already RTBC. We can get the release quickly.

Thanks vijaycs85. Looking forward to the fix release.
