Is there going to be any support for new drafts of published content in Drupal 8? Or are we going to need to wait to upgrade until Workbench Moderation has a Drupal 8 version?

I just tried out Drupal 8 on simplytest.me. There doesn't seem to be a way to tell it that I want to be able to edit and save unpublished drafts of already-published content without unpublishing the content.

There is no mention of workflow improvements on the Drupal 8 promotional page. Yet, Workbench Moderation doesn't seem to have a Drupal 8 development version either.

I'm guessing leaving this feature out of Drupal 8 was an intentional choice, not an oversight, but I can't seem to find anything about it in the first few pages of a search on "workbench moderation" "drupal 8". Given that large organizations would likely want such a feature, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this apparent silence/absence.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Drupal 8 is still in development, and has not even released an alpha or beta branch yet. Therefore most module developers have also not started development on their modules for it, which is almost definitely why you aren't seeing anything for the workbench moderation module for D8.

I will soon be leaving the Drupal forums permanently. To understand why, please see this thread.

Thanks. It appears there is an initiative for core that is still being baked, so perhaps that is why it is not yet being promoted as a benefit.

Just found #218755: Support revisions in different states and #1776796: Provide a better UX for creating, editing & managing draft revisions. and am now following.
