What is Crowdsourcing?
Crowdsourcing is the attempt to accomplish a goal (raise funds, contribute to a project, etc.) by leveraging the resources of a crowd of individuals. For instance, the website GoFundMe allows users to set up a page where they can explain their need for funds and collect donations from a "crowd" of people willing to donate. Kickstarter and IndieGoGo are other well-known crowdsourcing websites.
Two options for Drupal integrated crowdsourcing:
- Open Ideal: "For companies & organizations interested in sharing strategic decisions and future planning of products and services with their customers."
- Drupal Crowdfunding: A basic crowdfunding platform
Crowdsourcing is a great solution for problems or tasks that are too large or difficult for a limited number of individuals. Crowdsourcing opens the problem to the community of the internet to join your cause, whatever it may be.
