Release notes

This marks the first almost-stable release of Metatag, after three years of development. We thank you for your patience and we intend to have the final v7.x-1.0 release out really soon. We're also very grateful for all the help getting us to this point, this release would not have been as robust were it not for the patches and testing by many people - thank you all.

The most notable changes since 7.x-1.0-beta9 are:

  • All meta tags are now sorted during output.
  • The two Facebook meta tags have been split off from the Open Graph meta tags into their own Metatag:Facebook module.
  • Some meta tags many now support multiple values in a comma separated list, e.g. og:image.
  • Certain meta tags will now always output secure URLs, e.g. og:image:secure_url.
  • A wealth of fixes have been made, most notably when using multiple languages or revisions, and some unfortunately some bugs in beta9 that could have resulted in dataloss.
