Problem is "Users can't add things to cart on first try in ubercart". After 1st attempt users can add products. I could figure out that this was an issue with secure pages module.
Solution:
I disabled secure pages module (7.x-1.0-beta2) and used .htaccess file for https.

I don't have that problem with Secure Pages. Perhaps it's how you've configured that module. Regardless, I don't see anything here that indicates an issue with Ubercart ...

Marking fixed, as the original post contains a "solution" of not using Secure Pages, and I don't see what more we can do to help here.
