I tried to update to version 7.x-1.17 but i couldn't (using drush with git ceckout). Investigating further I looked into the repository viewer here http://cgit.drupalcode.org/extlink/log/ and there is no tag for version 7.x-1.17. But there is a commit 7.x-1.17 which is strange.

Can this be fixed?

Strange. When I try to create a tag for that commit it says there already is one with "7.x-1.17".

I updated to version 1.18 with no problem. But checking for the commit which should be tagged with 7.17 it was not there. The code is in a state like commit "Rephrasing description on image links. (ffaea4e8587c2809f141a3116d5364e732dcad7b)" was never commited. I am not sure whats wrong here but maybe a recommit of the issue can fix this.
