Views - css changes blocked

I have successfully changed the margins of the text in a view block using the main theme stylesheet on one site, but on another site on a different server where there is also a content type with a Global:View area sitting as the header, the same code in the stylesheet is not having any effect on the text in the block below the header. Am I missing some settings?
